My Ensembles
Everette Brown Trio
Everette Brown, Elaine Winters, and Avent Lane formed the Everette Brown Trio years ago. They met at a jam session and soon after decided to form a group to play Everette’s original songs as well as Country and Bluegrass standards.
Everette is a professional singer/songwriter who originally hails from Memphis. He has written for a number of artists and composed a theme song for Memphis Public Television.
Avent Lane, the group’s bass player, is a professional musician and a Murfreesboro native. Avent has played bass with numerous groups including the Vasser Clements Band. He also plays in the Home Sweet Home band among several others.
The Everette Brown Trio can be heard every Saturday morning at the City Café in Murfreesboro from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Home Sweet Home Band
The Home Sweet Home Band is an Americana band with an old-time band flavor. Elaine Winters formed Home Sweet Home in 2016 to present music of the Civil War to visitors at Stones Rivers National Battlefield. Since its founding, the band has expanded its setlist to include many forms of Americana music.
Members include Elaine Winters on fiddle, banjoist Daniel Rothwell (former National Old Time Banjo Champion), guitarist Rob Pearcy (award-winning multi-instrumentalist), singer Amanda Shields, and bassist Avent Lane.
Starlight Jazz Trio
The Starlight Jazz Trio frequently appears at the Stones River Country Club. Elaine formed Starlight three years ago when she received a request for an ensemble featuring jazz violin.
Our guitarist, jazz legend Mel Deal, lays a firm foundation for the group. Mel is a retired member of the Nashville Symphony and spent many years on the faculty at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Mel has played with dozen of well know performers and spent 18 years as the guitarist on the General Jackson Showboat.
Our bassist, John Owenby, is a prominent Nashville studio musician and a member of the Paducah Symphony.
